Brittney Melnick
Chief Foodie

Brittney Melnick is a true Renaissance woman whose love for food and living life to the fullest have culminated in the creation of B With a Twist Catering. Her experience in the corporate world taught her that bringing a vision to reality takes vision, planning and tenacity. Her work in communications and marketing taught her that meeting deadlines and budget are as important as creating the perfect event for your special day. And her six year tenure as a professional event planner taught her to be patient and organized when pulling all of the elements for the perfect event together.

Prior to opening B With a Twist in 2008, Brittney spent ten years perfecting her skills in catering and event planning. Her company specializes in upscale comfort food, with a twist! Specialties that have become her most-requested include her Macaroni & Cheese, BBQ meatballs, red wine braised short ribs and mouthwatering homemade desserts.

Brittney was a self-described “odd child” with a penchant for cooking shows over cartoons and Saved by the Bell. She idolized Julia Child, Martha Stewart, the Frugal Gourmet and Yan Can Cook. Her “aha” moment came in Junior High, when she was asked to staff a waffle station at a friend’s high-end wedding. Her love for cooking and catering stayed with her and throughout her previous careers she would spend evenings testing out new recipes after a stressful day at work. “I was known as the girl who brought in all the delicious treats and was often told I should cook professionally,” she said. “I was always hosting engagement, wedding and cocktail parties for friends.”

During the downturn in the economy, Brittney was laid off twice and finally decided to try her hand at a new profession. She catered a wedding at an exclusive estate home in Las Vegas, got loads of compliments and referrals from people who were regulars at such restaurants as Guy Savoy and Bradley Ogden…and B With a Twist was born.

Brittney takes special pride in a career that can both celebrate the joys of life and comfort those in sad times. From baby showers to funerals, Brittney delights in making people happy through her gourmet comfort food and tailored events.

Among the highlights of Brittney’s catering career have included serving 2,200 guests at a Sunrise Easter Memorial service for Palm Mortuary and a luncheon honoring the hundreds of volunteers at Ronald McDonald House Las Vegas. She has had the honor of serving elected officials including Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, U.S. Congresswoman Shelley Berkley and U.S. Senator Dean Heller.

Brittney firmly believes that food has the power to create a great mood and atmosphere at any event and said, “I don’t ever want my service to be less attentive than what I would expect at my own wedding anniversary.” Cheers!
